I'm Maisie Manners, Founder and Maker

Before starting the brand, I worked as a professional seamstress for 2 years at a sustainable lingerie brand in London. I loved perfecting my craft over the years, and I developed a deep understanding of industry standard construction during this time. Sewing was always a big part of my life from a young age, and I have been professionally pursuing it since 2015

 My Story

I developed the idea for Manners Made after loving similar bags on the market, but finding they often weren't designed with functionality or durability in mind. I knew I wanted to make something that was actually a useful size, and a classic unisex design for everyone to enjoy. I handcraft each bag myself from beginning to end, and I adore the process

Slow Fashion Practices

Pre-loved, vintage or remnant fabrics are typically sold in very small quantities, and this is how I choose to buy it. Buying in this way means each fabric edition will always have a limited stock. Slow fashion practices like this ensure no overproducing, and keeps each batch fresh, unique and special

Sourcing Materials

Each fabric used is sourced from responsible sources across the UK. I aim to find mostly natural fabrics; whether its remnant, vintage or second hand the quality will always be there. The strap is made from 100% biodegradable canvas and the double zips are chosen to be durable and heavy duty
